Welcome to CMPS 218 Foundations of Data Science! This course aims to cover several fundamental components of data science.

- Probability Theory (basics, concentration inequality, martingale etc)

- Data Collection (crowdsourcing, inference, aggregation)

- Machine Learning (learning theory, online learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning etc)

- FATE (fairness, accountability, transparency and ethics) in Data Science

- Applications

We will go through both theoretical reasonings, as well as applications.
